The Cook's vineyard

the grape crusher

From the tubs to the grinder.

The finished product.

the bottle corker

the grinder removes the stems.

The center bladder has squeezed all the juice out of their cases and left pulp for the compost pile.

dumping the pulp into the tractor scoop.

Enoch Stomp is the Winery's name.

the grapes arrive via flatbed.

Each tub is weighed, and the grapes are tested for sugar content.

The sterling vats hold the juice.

the wooden barrels hold special grape juice for a different flavor.

volunteers come to pick the grapes.

family members pick, too.

this tub is about half-full.

my very busy parents

These plates commemorate the 32 days that mom and dad took care of me while my broken pelvis and seatbones mended. They worked like trojans to keep things going around here as much like normal as possible. I think Wal-Mart has put their pictures on the store wall in honor of their daily visits.

a new look

well, this new look only took 4 hours.
how do you like it?

some more of Glen's students, just hanging out.

Linus gets a well-earned bath and squeegie.
He's had quite a day and had a lot to think about.

Glen, Sallie, Chelsea, Holly, help Linus feel welcome in his new residence.
Glen measured Linus. A tall 15.3!!! And he wasted no time beginning Linus's first lesson.
Let's see how you take to this saddle.....
He's a very smart horse, but he ain't broke......he will learn quickly, though.
Linus's curious, and soon to demonstrate his domineering nature, neighbor, a Lusitano stallion.

Inside the Cochran Corral

sidesaddles of every kind in each room.

Paintings of sidesaddle riders are everywhere, too.

what a cute stick horse. This is soooo Katelinn!!!

Linus at school

Linus has gone to Twin Creeks Ranch boarding school for horses.

This is Glen with one of his students finishing a lesson.

Sallie is a side-saddle specialist. Her home reflects her interests. There are saddles in every room in the house except the bathroom. Most of them are sidesaddles and they all have a special story to tell.

Holly and I felt very much at home in this very horsey place.

some of my favorite girls

my favorite thing to do besides teach BSF....is to teach my little friends to swim, and how special when they are my very own precious granddaughters!!! Thank you, Ann, for letting us use your pool, and thank you Nikki and DeAnn for letting me borrow the girls for a while.

Megan and Aaron are in San Francisco on their honeymoon. It will be fun to see what God has in store for them ministry-wise.

Aaron and Megan's wedding

what fun to attend the wedding of one of my former little swimmers, as well as a former 5th grader in Sunday School, and a builder of our front fence, and an intern with Mr. Winn during his college years...as he married another of the kids that grew up in our church, and went on mission trips with Mr. Winn. I don't think I gave her swimming lessons. It is possible that I don't remember that, but I definitely do remember teaching Aaron.

These wedding programs were hand-made by the bride and her family. Even her dad helped.
Very creative and beautiful.

Mr. Winn, Adam, the best man, and Aaron, the groom.

Aaron gets his first look at his beautiful bride as she comes down the isle.....awwwwww
