Good-bye January

Good-bye January.
the Dr. Deb Horsemanship clinic was fun, and the weather was pleasant.

If only Hotrod would go in the stall!!!
Mr. Winn is sitting in the stall, patiently waiting for Hotrod to obey.

mounting block, schmounting block, who needs them?

Guess which horse was Dr. Deb's favorite?

January is a good month to be a slug.
The kitty has the right idea.

A wild and crazy weekend

We went on a nature walk and found this skull. Is it a cow? Is it a horse?

Cousins #1 and #2 enjoy the new deer stand.

The Three Mad-Hatters.

Dottie thinks this really is a crazy weekend!

Grandkids # 1, #2, and #5 take time out for a photo op with Big T.

Imagine running into Joe Harrell at the Cotton Bowl. Only one chance in 88,000

It's always fun to find the Masked Rider's trailer.

Imagine! bathing suits on January 3! It was 79 degrees that day, and in the 30's the next morning!

And, finally, a quite moment with the boys.

And some creative moments for the girls.

For those of you wondering about the escape-dog, Lucy, she was not home when we returned from Kosse, but had found a new neighbor to attach herself to. They had taken very good care of her when she showed up scratching at their door that New Year's firecracker night. She ran into their house and slept in their bathroom, after refusing to be pried out the door. Their little boys had named her "New Year". Thanks to Lucy, we now are aquainted with more of our neighbors!

One traumatized-by fireworks-dog is missing!!

We take precautions on July 4 and New Year's and thunderstormy days to keep Lucy safe, knowing how scared she is of loud noises. She keeps surprising us.

This is what I found this morning when I went to the little shop to let Lucy out of her crate.
Notice the collar on the floor and the open window.

It took me a little while to realize how she escaped.

This window was closed.
When the hour is decent, we will go see if she is at the Smith's house, two doors from us. That is where she usually goes (thankfully they take pity on her.)
